After the Inspection
Within 24-48 hours, provided payment has been processed. Note: we realize there are often emergency/time crunch situations and we’ll do our best to prioritize and accommodate accordingly. Please communicate time sensitive circumstances at time of scheduling.
For real estate transactions, we recommend obtaining estimates from qualified, reputable contractors as soon as possible. Our reports are very detailed and can be used by contractors for estimating purposes.
Niche is an independent inspection only company with our clients’ safety and best interest at heart. While we can often offer guidance and “ballpark” ideas, only a qualified contractor’s formal estimate can be used for accuracy. Please note that pricing/estimates are always adjusting to current market conditions and any verbal discussions with our inspectors are purely prospective.
Safety and Security
Each year in the USA, there are an estimated 25,000 chimney fires. These fires are often due to factors like creosote buildup, blockages, and structural issues in chimneys. Regular inspections and cleanings can help reduce the risk of such fires.
There are an estimated 6,500 reported pool-related injuries in the USA per year. Pool access/fencing is vital to protecting from unwanted entry and injuries. Pool surround safety, interior conditions, drain, equipment and electrical safety are all paramount to the safe and enjoyable use of your pool.
Frequency of Inspections
- When Buying or Selling a Home: Per NFPA 211, level 2 chimney inspections are required upon transfer/sale of property. Annual sweep/cleaning is recommended, in addition to inspections based upon type and use of fireplaces and any issues.
- After a Weather Event or Damage: If the chimney has experienced damage from severe weather, earthquakes, or any other structural impact.
- Change in Fuel Type or Flue: When there is a change in the heating appliance or fuel type used with the chimney.
- Annual Check-up with Certain Conditions: If the chimney or venting system hasn’t been inspected recently or if you’re unsure of the last inspection, it might be wise to opt for a Level 2 inspection for peace of mind.
- Upon sale/transfer of a new home, an initial pool inspection is recommended to determine all conditions and pool safety.
- After any renovations/alterations to the pool (changes in pool surround, installation of a slide or new handrails etc.) It is recommended that ALL electrical work related to the pool be completed by a licensed electrician. It is also recommended that a licensed electrical contractor be consulted both before and after any changes to the pool surround to ensure that the pool grounding wires have not been disturbed.
